About Me...

My name is Marie Jackson. I am 27 years old and I live in a small village just outside Berwick-Upon-Tweed. I live here with my husband Steve, and together we have two beautiful daughters, Mackenzie and Holly.
As my first born, Mackenzie was the inspiration for the name ‘Mackajacks’ and she was the reason I decided to pursue a career as a children’s Muralist. Of course Holly arrived later.
I first discovered I had a talent for drawing at school. I was never one for academics and never expected to do well at school, but when I received a GCSE grade A in Art, I realised I had something a bit special after all. After leaving school I never had a career choice in mind. I completed a course in Animal Care at Bicton College in Devon, as animals are one of my other passions. From there I worked in several jobs, never finding real satisfaction in what I was doing. Finally after I had my eldest daughter, I decorated her first bedroom with a farmyard scene, my first full size mural, and from then I decided that was the career I wanted to pursue.
I have developed and improved my skills and techniques and I rely purely on my talent as an artist to create magical murals which children love.
